As the election period begins for the May 2025 elections, the Philippine National Police (PNP) will enforce a nationwide gun ban starting on January 12 to ensure a peaceful electoral process and reduce gun-related violence.

During the gun ban, authentic and replica firearms and other deadly weapons are prohibited from being carried and transported in public places. Cosplayers planning to attend events or participate in public gatherings are highly advised to exercise caution and modify their props and costumes if deemed necessary to avoid possible complications in adhering to the gun ban.
